    Description

    Vintage color view of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah.
    Front white caption reads, "MORMON TEMPLE AT SALT LAKE CITY, ON THE SALT LAKE ROUTE".
    Back caption reads,
    "MORMON TEMPLE AT SALT LAKE CITY.
    The Temple, commenced April 6th, 1853 and completed April 6th, 1893 at a cost
    of four million dollars. It is 186 1/2 feet long by 118 1/2 feet wide. The foundation
    of footing walls are 16 feet thick and 8 feet deep, the basement walls 8 feet thick
    and upper walls 6 feet thick. The side walls are 107 1/2 feet high. West corner tower
    204 feet high, cast center tower 210 feet high, surmounted by a hammered copper
    statue 12 1/2 feet high gilded with pure gold leaf."
