    Description

    Here is a nice 1893 Columbian Exposition Elongated Shield Nickel. Elongated coins were first smashed in 1893 at the expo. Piece has very nice original colored surfaces with some light wear and toning on the highest points. The shield nickel design can slightly be seen underneath the flattened surface on the reverse. I can not make out the date of the shield nickel. This elongated measures approximately 1-3/16 x 7/8  inches and is fairly nicely struck with a smooth edge.
